Smart Call 3rd in England Gr2

After more than 14 months off the track, Smart Call made her English debut in the Gr2 Betfred Middleton Stakes, having last raced when easily winning the Gr1 J&B Met in Cape Town. Smart Call ran on strongly over the final 100 metres or so, failing narrowly to take 2nd place away from The Black Princess. The surprise winner, Blond Me, was a little over a length ahead of the pair, with the  Breeders' Cup F&M Turf winner, and Smart Call's stablemate, back in fourth.

Noah From Goa 2nd in Dubai Gr2

The Mike De Kock trained Noah From Goa, a son of Tiger Ridge, stayed on to finished 2nd in the Gr2 Zabeel Mile yesterday. The race was won comfortably by Championship as Noah From Goa snatched second spot from Cymric. Noah From Goa was beaten 4.5 lengths by Championship a month ago and got a little closer this time with the winning margin being 2.75 lengths.

Light The Lights 2nd in Dubai Gr2

Light The Lights, a Mike de Kock trained son of Western Winter, ran a great race in the 1800 metre Gr2 Al Rashidiya when going down only half-a-length to Promising Run. It a tight finish, Earnshaw was only a neck away in 3rd place.

Noah From Goa 3rd in Dubai Gr2

Noah From Goa, a son of Tiger Ridge, made his first start in a year and his first since leaving South Africa when 3rd behind easy winner Championship and 2nd placed Flash Fire in the Gr2 Al Fahidi Fort.

Horse Of Fortune wins Gr3 in Hong Kong

Previously named Strongman when racing in South Africa, Horse Of Fortune won the Gr3 Sa Sa Ladies' Purse Handicap over 1800 metres at Sha Tin on Sunday.

Tellina runs 2nd in German St Leger Gr3

Now trained by Andreas Wohler, Tellina ran 2nd in the 2800 metre St Leger on his German debut. The 7 year old gelded son of Silvano was unplaced in his previous five starts (in Dubai) and was having his first start in almost 6 months.

Yorker runs 2nd in UK Gr3

Yorker, a 7 year old gelding by Jet Master, last raced more than 2 years ago in June 2014. Making his first UK start, in the yard of Willian Haggas, he ran on stoutly to finish 2nd at 14/1 to Scottish in the  Gr3 Strensall Stakes over 9 furlongs.
